Virginia Power of Attorney Form

Use the Virginia Power of Attorney Form to build your own customized Power of Attorney (POA).  A LegacyWriter form is a sophisticated web questionnaire that allows you to complete your document online securely.  After completing the questionnaire you will have the option to buy your document.  Following purchase, download and make changes at any any time to your document for 30 days for free.  LegacyWriter provides POAs for Financial and Health Care situations.

Financial POA

The Virginia Financial Power of Attorney form allows you to appoint an "attorney-in-fact" to act upon your behalf regarding financial matters.  An attorney-in-fact is not an attorney, but is instead your "Agent" who makes decisions in your place.  In a Financial Power of Attorney you can specify which matters of finance you want your Agent to be able to handle; for example, you may only want your agent to be able to make Real Estate transactions for you.  In the form you can choose to have the Virginia Financial POA go immediately into effect, or you can choose to have it only go into effect when you become incapacitated and unable to communicate (this is called a "springing" Power of Attorney).

Health Care POA

For the state of Virginia LegacyWriter does not offer a separate Health Care Power of Attorney Form.  A Health Care Power of Attorney lets you appoint a person to make health care decisions on your behalf if you are incapacitated and unable to communicate.  For Virginia, the LegacyWriter Living Will lets you appoint a person to enforce your Living Will directly in it.
